365

An exhibition at the Regional Museum of Halland, about movement, narrative, internal and external space.

365 equally sized parts are mounted on the walls in this installation. The parts are made of sheet metal with punched texts and phrases, numbered and organised in sequence. They are all a response to a hidden narrative.

The work contains the concept of the illusion of progress. The texts leads the observers/public and gives the impression of a direction and a sense of progress and purpose, but in reality you are still in the middle of the work, that continues in circles around the space. If one stands in the middle of the room you see the repeating patterns, but the closer you get to the individual parts the texts appear on the expense of the whole pattern.
